Join us for an edible conversation between a farm, a chef, and the community.

We are delighted to welcome Community Table back for the 2024 Spring Series. This beloved event brings a renowned chef to our farm to design an ecological meal around our four seasonal rotations (market garden, milpa, fruit forest, cover crops). By bringing these culinary artists back to the source, we give them an opportunity to connect with new ingredients, find fresh inspiration in our bioregion’s historic foodways, and discover the rewards of relationship with the land.

CHEFS SABRINA NYSWONGER AND JASON MCLEOD 

Jason and Sabrina are quite the dynamic duo! They have been successfully teaming up and cooking together for 4 years and are able to collaborate not only as individual, professional chefs, but also as a couple. 

As a “jack-of-all-trades” type, Sabrina worked various jobs before finding her true passion in the kitchen. She initially established herself at Cowboy Star for 2 years until the 2020 pandemic pushed her into entrepreneurship as a private chef. She’s now successfully working full-time in various homes across San Diego county. She feels it is a great privilege to have the flexibility of creating her own schedule while doing what she truly loves every day. 

Sabrina’s culinary style is heavily influenced by her Latin heritage and extensive travels to Europe, Asia & Mexico. She’s also committed to using fresh, local ingredients. 

Jason is classically French-trained. 

A 35-year veteran of the culinary industry,  Chef Jason McLeod first made his mark at Chicago’s RIA, earning the relatively unknown seafood restaurant two Michelin stars in just a year’s time. 

Today, even while managing multiple projects at once, Chef Jason’s award-winning approach to cooking remains the same: simple, honest, no-fuss preparation of the best, locally grown seasonal ingredients. 

Jason and Sabrina’s favorite way to share their delicious food with people is by combining their diverse forces!

FAQ

DIETARY PREFERENCES
Community Table dinners are fixed course, family-style meals. As such, we cannot accommodate every dietary restriction. Please email us with any dietary needs.  We will try to accommodate for vegetarian/vegan needs, gluten intolerance, and seafood/shellfish allergies but let us know if there are any specific dietary restrictions for any of your guests.  We will do our best to accommodate anything beyond the 3 listed. If there are any life threatening allergies we recommend emailing before purchasing tickets.

SCHEDULE
Community Table Dinners begin at 6pm, when we’ll start with drinks and a farm tour. We appreciate timeliness as the dinner is coursed intentionally with just one seating. Dinners typically end around 10pm.

REFUNDS
We can offer refunds up to one week before the dinner.  In the case that you need to cancel last minute, we would be happy to work with you to pass along your tickets to friends or family members.
