MICROGREENS: Summer
Slow down, be present, and build grounded, mindful connections with your little ones.
Recognizing that early childhood is a sacred time for nurturing the next generation, we welcome families to join us for our one-of-a-kind Microgreens program. Inspired by the seasonal rhythms that guide our life here on the farm, these parent-child classes are designed to provide the ideal ecosystem to support our growing children.
Babies and children through age five, together with their parents, will gather in our beautifully designed Children’s Garden to spend time in nature and practice meaningful work while forging community and interdependence, drawing from our GROW-EAT-MAKE-PEACE ethos.
Parents will be invited to share their experiences through discussion via thoughtfully curated weekly prompts, and will share insight as we celebrate the joys and challenges that come with raising young children in today’s world.
Program Details:
The Microgreens Summer program is a 6-week commitment designed to welcome our newest farm families who are planning to homeschool their children with a focus on eco-conscious lifestyle, agro-ecology, sustainability, and conscious consumerism.
Enrollment priority is given to those who have recently applied to our 9-month Microgreens program, which runs throughout the upcoming school year.
Ages 3 through 5 (up to 6th birthday)
Mondays: Ages 4 through 5 (9am to 12pm)
Tuesdays: Age 3 (Group 1, 9am to 12pm)
Wednesdays: Age 3 (Group 2, 9am to 12pm)

- Arrivals, meaningful work, garden exploration
- Morning Circle
- Community Table (farm snack and cleanup)
- Child-led play and free exploration
- Parent Circle
- Garden Stewardship and Closing
Ages 1 through 2 (up to 3rd birthday)
Thursdays: Group 1, 9am to 10:30am
Thursdays: Group 2, 11am to 12:30pm

- Siblings outside of the primary age range of the class will require a sibling ticket if they beginning to walk and eat solid foods. No ticket required for infants-in-arms or in-stroller.
- As these classes are designed for children and their parents/guardians equally, we do not allow child care substitutes. However co-parents, caregivers/nannies, grandparents are welcomed to attend in addition to a primary parent/guardian.
How is Microgreens different from Eco-Tots?
Eco-Tots is a drop-in-and-play parent and child class, featuring many of the same seasonal activities experienced in Microgreens. Our Eco-Tots and Microgreens early childhood teachers work closely together to bring our farm based curriculum to the community in an accessible format.
As an enrolled program, Microgreens is designed to form intimate groups of families who are working together to create conscious community and interdependence through shared meaningful work, parent education, and discussion, week after week.
Graduates of Microgreens Summer program may receive invitations to join our regular Microgreens program throughout the school year, or our Farm Raised programs as they age up.
Cancellation Policy:
Full refund for withdrawal up to 30 days before the program begins. Purchase pays for all series days – no prorated discount if you plan to attend fewer than offered. We are unable to offer makeup classes or refunds for missed sessions. Your tuition reserves your child’s place in the class for the entire season. Tickets are not transferrable.
Our program is designed to proceed rain or shine, ensuring that participants can make the most of every session. In the event of extreme weather conditions, 24-48 hour advance notice by The Ecology Center will be provided in which case a refund will be issued, only for days deemed unsafe.
The Ecology Center is a place where education, adventure, and environmental stewardship meet, inviting children to grow with the rhythms of nature.
