Hannah and Chef Brian have been longtime friends, connecting over their shared love of yoga, mindfulness, and nourishment in all its forms. Hence it was natural to create a shared experience through the Ecology Center to highlight the launch of the Peace Dome!

Our journey will begin with intention setting, which you will hold through movement & meals, culminating in a seed-planting ceremony to call forth new growth within your life. Once planted in joy, there will be a grazing table and broth to enjoy & close the retreat. From Start to finish expect to cultivate a better understanding of your body in relation to the earth beneath us and the food that we take from it. We look forward to offering this opportunity to unite us in community and connect with ourselves!

During the retreat TEC will provide a tour of our 28 acre Regenerative Organic farm and will talk through the soil practices of the only certified organic and regenerative farm in California.

Root to Rise
Wellness Retreat

Welcome to Root To Rise! Nourish your body, mind, and soul with a full-day retreat on the farm, blending movement, mindfulness, education, and food. The day-long retreat includes meditation, breathwork, movement practices and meals all designed to help you root yourself into the earth and connect with the soil.

The movement portion of the day will be guided by Los Angeles based Yoga Teacher and retreat leader Hannah Dawe (Modo, Open ). As a dancer, Hannah blends different modalities of movement and mindfulness into a graceful flow that plants you in your own body with ease.

Chef Brian Bornemann, of LA Times 101 restaurant Crudo e Nudo will be creating a multi-course farm-to-table lunch, highlighting the best of the spring produce straight from the land you are practicing on. He is an industry leader in sustainable and local sourcing in Los Angeles and is a frequent collaborator at TEC. Lunch will include a discussion on how to improve your own sourcing and how to build better food systems.
