Root to Rise: Day Retreat w/ Hannah Dawe & Chef Brian Bornemann

Root to Rise returns for its second season, inviting you into a full-day retreat where movement, mindfulness, and the living earth come together in nourishing harmony.

Hosted by yoga and mindfulness teacher Hannah Dawe and Chef Brian Bornemann at the beautiful Ecology Center, this one-of-a-kind experience weaves together morning movement, a guided farm tour, hands-on group food preparation, a fresh farm-to-table lunch, a seed planting ceremony, and a closing meditation with tea. Long-time friends and collaborators, Hannah and Brian have always shared a passion for bringing yoga off the mat and into everyday life — and Root to Rise is that vision made real. Rooted in the belief that true nourishment is spiritual, physical, and intellectual, this retreat offers a holistic, ground-up approach to wellness that goes far beyond what’s on your plate. Whether you’re stepping into the soil for the first time or deepening a lifelong practice, you’ll leave feeling full in every sense of the word.

The day will include:

  • Grounding movement practice to awaken the body and settle into the day
  • A guided farm tour exploring the land, seasonal harvest, and regenerative practices
  • A hands-on cooking experience with Chef Brian using fresh farm ingredients
  • A shared seasonal lunch enjoyed together at the table
  • A deeply restorative yoga nidra practice for rest and integration
  • Seed planting to connect with the cycles of growth and the soil
  • A gentle tea gathering to close the day with reflection and community

Please wear clothes for movement. We recommend to bring a notepad, sweater, and blanket.

Peace Dome activities help us reconnect to the land by sharing experiences that create reverence to the thousands of years old history of interconnectedness.
By coming together as a community, we are able to reflect on our relationship to this planet and this farm in order to help better steward it with a deep sense of peace. This work is just one of the ways in which we help envision a future of meaningful investment in our food, our neighbors, our children, and of course, this magical farm.
