Tyler’s cooking philosophy is rooted in simplicity, seasonality, and heartfelt hospitality.
Chef Tyler joins us in challenging times, having had his Altadena restaurant close 31 days after opening due to fire. As the restaurant is closed for the foreseeable future, the team will reunite for this special evening to celebrate, share stories and wine, break bread, and raise some funds for those still struggling from the fires.
The restaurant was a culmination of twenty years of dreams and experience and was open for 31 nights. “It’s the best team I ever worked with. We were so excited and loved every second that we got to do it.”
Many of the crew lost gainful employment as a result of the Eaton Fire and are still looking for a meaningful home. With this dinner we’re hoping to help support and keep the staff afloat until the team can get the restaurant back up and running.
His dishes celebrate market-driven ingredients, prepared without pretense, and are designed to bring people together around the table. Expect a comforting meal reflecting Tyler’s commitment to feeding people with honesty, humor, and a deep respect for the ingredients.
Chef Tyler Wells above all lives to create memorable moments with friends and strangers. His career has taken him from high end coffee to soulful restaurants with values at their core. As the new resident Culinary Director at The Ecology Center, Chef Tyler is eager to create a beautiful and bountiful feast that celebrates the farm and farmers.
